Jim McKinney Educational Fund

Shawnee County Allied Tribes is now accepting donations for the Jim McKinney Educational Fund. All donations will be used for scholarships for Native Americans who are registered with a tribe. Donations should be sent to Shawnee County Allied Tribes, P.O. Box 750284, Topeka, KS 66675-0284. Checks and money orders should stipulate that it is for the Jim McKinney Educational Fund. Shawnee County Allied Tribes is a 501c3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.

Caleb Jordan is the second recipient of the Jim McKinney Scholarship. He is a graduate of Cair Paravel Latin School in Topeka, Kansas. Caleb is a registered member of the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma and the son of Michael and Diane Jordan of Topeka. He is attending Kansas State University, majoring in biology. We have received a Thank You letter from Caleb.


We are happy to announce that the First Scholarship was presented in November 2006 to Jessica Thompson. Jessica is the daughter of Del and Marcia Thompson of Lawrence, KS. Jessica was the Shawnee County Allied Tribes Pow Wow Princess in 2002-2003 and 2005-2006. We have received a Thank You letter from Jessica.
