| Members of the Shawnee County Allied Tribes organization have collaborated for several years to create wreaths that have been donated to the Festival of Trees to be sold to benefit the Sheltered Living, Inc. The wreath donated for the 29th Festival of Trees was titled "Celebration of Life" and celebrated the rich heritage of Kansas Native Americans. It was decorated with traditional handmade items and items from nature. This year's wreath highlighted culture and beliefs of Native Americans. Life goes full circle from baby, child, adult, and elder. The wreath is a circle -- a Celebration of Life. The wreath sold for $400. We received a letter from Sheltered Living, Inc. giving us the outcome of the Festival of Trees this year. To read the letter click this link. |
